{"id":61,"date":"2017-06-17T03:30:19","date_gmt":"2017-06-17T03:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinw.ca\/?page_id=61"},"modified":"2017-06-17T03:30:19","modified_gmt":"2017-06-17T03:30:19","slug":"thunder-bay-aoda","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/csinw.ca\/?page_id=61","title":{"rendered":"Thunder Bay AODA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AODA Accessibility Plan 2015<\/p>\n<p>AIM<\/p>\n<p>The aim of this Accessibility plan is to describe measures that Hagi-Community Services for Independence has taken since 2012 and will be taking during 2015, to identify, remove and prevent barriers to all Ontarians in accessing Hagi\u2019s facilities and services.<\/p>\n<p>Objectives of this Accessibility Plan<\/p>\n<p>Hagi-Community Services for Independence continues to identify, remove, and prevent barriers to people with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Identify the facilities, policies, programs, practices and services that Hagi Community Services for Independence implemented to identify barriers to people with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Hagi-Community Services for Independence has made this accessibility plan available to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Description of Organization<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo improve the quality of life for individuals with disability including seniors\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hagi-Community Services for Independence is a non profit organization that offers the following:<\/p>\n<p>Supportive Housing Division- Provides 24 hour support for adults with disabilities in seven satellites in the City of Thunder Bay.<br \/>\nOutreach Division \u2013Provides personal support services to individuals in their own home in the Thunder Bay and North Shore Area<br \/>\nHousing Division-Provides two barrier free apartment buildings with a total of 40 accessible apartments.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Accessibility Working Group<\/p>\n<p>The Accessibility Working Committee was created in July of 2011 to ensure Hagi-Community Services for Independence compliance to the accessibility for Ontarians Disability Act. As an organization, we respect and uphold the requirements set forth under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005), Customer Service Standard, and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation for Information and Communications, Employment, and Transportation, and Built Environment.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 1.8 million Ontarians lives with a disability, and as the population grows older, this number will also increase. Our organization has made a commitment to accessibility for everyone who uses our services. We are committed to ensuring our organization\u2019s compliance with accessibility legislation by incorporating policies, procedures, equipment requirements, training for employees, and best practices.
